At some point in its life this coin was covered with gold leaf.  I don't know why.  Much of it remains in the fields.

 

Pronoia

 

Not commonly seen on ancient coins, this personification first appears on Roman provincial coinage late in Hadrian's reign.  She represent foreknowledge and anticipation of important events.
